What is the Rise Above mission?
The Rise Above mission focuses on raising awareness about the consequences of destructive decisions, particularly impaired driving. Through public speaking engagements, my goal is to connect with various groups, including students and community organizations, to inspire personal reflection and conscious decision-making.
What geographical areas does Rise Above serve?
Rise Above serves Rockland County (NY), Northern Bergen County (NJ), and Westchester County (NY) first. Other areas of Metropolitan New York (within a 50 mile radius from the Tappan Zee / Mario Cuomo Bridge) are also served, but will incur additional round-trip travel expenses. Events beyond Metropolitan New York will incur round-trip travel expenses, plus hotel charges and meal charges.
What types of groups do you speak to?
I engage with a variety of groups, including high school and college students, community organizations such as police departments or county-sponsored groups, rehabilitation centers, and businesses. My focus is on the real-life consequences of impaired driving, and my goal is to reach diverse audiences to foster discussions about personal choices and the long-term effects on people’s lives.
What types of presentations does Rise Above offer?
I offer four biographical presentations with various focal points:
1. Police – the importance of their work
2. Students – how today’s choices will impact their tomorrow
3. Scared straight – a real look at life in prison
4. Parents/Coordinators – sharing the victim’s stories
